We had a lot of fun on our annual trip to the pumpkin patch this year. I was still recovering from surgery but wanted to do one fun thing with mom before she left. The kids convinced Holly that she needed to come with us so after Tayler got out of school we headed on out to Santaquin. London fell asleep on the way and when we pulled in the parking lot and got out of the car, somehow I managed to lock my little sleeping beauty in while all the rest of us stood on the outside. The only thing I could think to do was try to wake her and see if she could get the door unlocked. I was 99% sure she wouldn't be able to do it so waking her up actually made the situation traumatic. She was groggy, upset and screaming her head off. Thankfully the Santaquin police came and got her out and we bribed her into happiness with an ice cream cone. The weather turned colder than we hoped and we were willing to buy a blanket in the store, if only they had one. The kids loved the wagon ride, playing on the tractor, going through the apple bin maze and looking for pumpkins. The only difference this year was instead of wanting a small pumpkin they wanted to find the biggest pumpkins in the patch. I told them what ever pumpkin they chose was fine as long as they could carry it. Somehow I think I still ended up carrying two. The end treat was driving home in the warm car and munching on fresh apple spiced donuts!
