Today Tayler and I were at the mall and I asked her if she would like to look for a new pair of clip on or magnetic earrings to wear with her Easter dress tomorrow. She said she really wanted some dog earrings. What?! I said, "How about some cute flower or bunny earrings?" She said, "no, I'd really like some dog earrings." Hmmmmm. So we went into the store and we searched and searched for earrings that she would like but everything was real like what mom's wear and we couldn't find anything. We started talking about how she could get holes in her ears like mommy but that they put this little gun to your ear and shoot a hole in your ear so that the earring will fit. Tayler didn't seem the least bit worried. I tried to explain to her that it would hurt a little bit but not for long...that it hurts like a shot at the Dr. office or when a bee stings you. Really I think I was trying to discourage her in a big way but she was so excited.
We left the store for a few minutes to discuss it but she practically dragged me back in saying it was ok if it hurt a little. She was so brave and very chatty with the store clerk. Luckily two women were available to do both ears at the same time. I was so much more nervous than she was but she did great. Her eyes welled up and I thought she was going to bust out crying but luckily I think she didn't want the bystanders to see her crying so she toughed it out and a few minutes later, completely forgot about them. She can't wait to go back into the store in 6 weeks and find some cute....dog earrings.
