Brandon's prayer on the food

It was Brandon's turn to say the prayer the other night and sometimes he likes to say extra long prayers just to be funny and watch his sister's squirm. It's hard keeping a straight face during the prayer because usually the kids eyes are half open the entire time.

Part of his dialogue, "Heavenly Father, please help us to be good, not bad, just good....and please help our garden to grow good and to grow fast, especially the strawberries and carrots because strawberries are beautiful when they are red."

Explanation: I love planting a garden because my kids are fairly picky eaters and when they see how things grow in the dirt they love to pick, wash and eat them straight from the garden. I could never get Brandon to eat strawberries or carrots until he saw how we could grow them ourselves. Now we are trying to grow blueberries, raspberries, peaches and other vegetables in the hopes of turning the kids dislikes into LIKES! The only drawbacks are how long they have to wait for it to ripen and for mommy learning patience because she has to explain every single day how it takes LOTS and LOTS of days for things to grow. :)

Brandon loves to have conversations about which foods are healthy and which ones are not. Even though he LOVES the unhealthies it's fun for the kids to see how all things in the garden are healthy.

So....I guess he was just hoping that H.F. would answer his prayer and make the food grow faster, and whatta ya know, today we went out to check the strawberries and found tons of little green berries hiding....now if they would just turn red.
