My muddy ballerina

For the life of me, I can not get this girl to stay out of the mud. I wash several pairs of shoes weekly! I specifically tell her when she goes out to play to STAY OUT OF THE MUD and she always responds, "OK mom, I will!" Not once has she come back into the house clean! Can I be mad and laughing at the same time watching my little girl in a dress with no coat on in 45 degree weather dancing in the mud?! It was amusing...until I had to clean her up.
